Why is BN sweet?

BN is sweet, and some practitioners have asked why. Why do you add dextrose or glucose to BN? Is there any alternative product that is not sweet? They also ask if we can make the product without sugar.

Regarding the dextrose/glucose in BN, yes, we do add glucose for the fermentation process. Fermentation is absolutely key to this product, and glucose is essential for fermenting green papayas.

We add glucose for fermentation purposes, not to improve the taste.

In BN production, the manufacturer stops the fermentation process at a specific point because if it continues, it would lead to the production of alcohol, which we don't want in our product. The fermentable sugar is also necessary for the production of probiotics. That is why the product remains sweet. The method for producing BN has not changed since 1969, and we have over 130 academic papers published worldwide supporting its therapeutic actions. If the production method or ingredients were altered, the therapeutic benefits proven by extensive research would also change. Therefore, we can only offer the current product to ensure the best benefits for all our customers.

●Dose Dextrose affect gut health badly and why?

Dr Kaye's answer

Since BN needs to undergo Biofermentation, sugar is much needed in this process, however, what we use is just the simplest sugar which is very easy to absorb for energy release. BN will definitely help in gut health because almost all processes happening in the gut consumes oxygen and produces free radicals which eventually harms the cells, incorporating BN in the regimen for gut health is definitely very helpful.

For people with diabetes, we recommend BN, even though it tastes sweet.

Why? Because BN helps with insulin resistance in the liver. While diabetic individuals might hesitate to take it due to its sweetness, it’s actually beneficial.

We have numerous clinical research papers on BN and diabetes. If you are interested in reading them, please us know.

It is not about the taste, it is so important for all practitioners to understand how BN works in our body.
